I have some wonderful news for you, the book I have been writing the past few months is nearly complete and I now have a title and release date to share with you all.

The book will be titled Fabulous Fascinators and will be launched Monday 28th May 2012 on Amazon UK and Amazon US and will also be available to purchase through my website www.kjmillinery.co.uk and www.how2hats.com.

This book has been a real labour of love for the past few months and I have been working hard to create a book that will be suitable for the complete beginner through to the individual with a keen interest in millinery. Included in the book are basic techniques that are the basis for any project followed by fourteen beautiful projects for you to complete ranging from basic through to advanced. All of the examples and techniques can be adapated to create your own unique fascinator. I do hope you will enjoy using the book as much as I have writing it.

Some exciting news for K J Millinery, we have just signed a contract with a publisher to write a book about fascinators. The book will have 14 projects ranging from simple to advanced and will be a complete how to with full instructions and images.

The book will be available through the website and Amazon UK and Amazon US.

We are busy writing the book as we speak and will hopefully be able to announce the release date soon. Keep watching this space for more news and updates.

The new dress code for Royal Ascot 2012 was unveiled today with stricter guidelines being enforced. In the royal enclsoure Ladies are advised that hats should be worn. In the Grandstand it will be compulsory to wear a hat, headpiece or fascinator.

This is wonderful news for avid hat and fascinator wearers alike as now everyone can enjoy the pleasures of fine style and fashion.

The afternoon started with pots of tea served in vintage china tea pots and cups, dainty sandwiches, homemade scones and cupcakes which were truly delicious! There were then competitions judged by the Mayoress of Wolverhampton Mrs Kath Turner. To start us of was ‘Best self made hat/fascinator’ followed by ‘Best overall hat/fascinator’ then ‘Best dressed’. There were also competitions for ‘Best teapot and teacup’ this was great fun and was great to see lots of wonderful fascinators on show. I was delighted that the overall ‘Best dressed’ was won by Lorraine wearing a KJ Millinery Cocktail fascinator.

There were lots of great prizes donated for the raffle by local businesses including K J Millinery who donated a Fascinator.
Overall it was a fantastic fun filled afternoon with lots of money raised for a great cause. Take a look at some of the photos from the afternoon below.
